<br />service as Mayor from 1979 through 1984 and 1997 through 2008 and as Councilmember from <br />1977 to 1978. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen expressed her appreciation and stated how much she enjoyed her six <br />years of service. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson thanked the citizens, especially those from Ward 2, who allowed her to <br />serve. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he wanted to thank everybody and noted how great the City staff has <br />been to work with over the years. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION TO SYLVIA FROLIK <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Sylvia Frolik has served the City for 27 years and been a great <br />employee. He stated that she is retiring on December 31, 2008. He read aloud from a <br />resolution honoring her years of service to the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt the resolution honoring <br />Sylvia Frolik. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmembers Olson, Dehen, Elvig, Look <br />and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented a plaque to Sylvia Frolik and thanked her for her years of service to the <br />City. He stated that she had started out working part time taking minutes of the Council <br />meetings. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: END OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR FIRE FIGHTERS <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated that Vicki Herrington and Jason Blood have successfully completed <br />their probationary period. He stated that he is proud to say that these two gifted fire fighters are <br />prepared to become unrestricted fire fighters. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented them with their official badges and congratulated them on getting <br />through this period. He stated that he knows this is a large commitment for their families also. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Winslow Holasek, Andover Boulevard, Andover, stated that he appeared at the" last Council <br />meeting and had requested reimbursement of attorney's fees that he had spent concerning the <br />storm sewer condemnation. He asked about the status of his request. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that it has been turned over to the City Attorney Goodrich and City <br />Administrator Ulrich. <br /> <br />City Council / December 9, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 17 <br />
