<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-10-213 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a revised personnel policy in 2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, periodically, it will be necessary to amend the personnel policy to ensure <br />compliance with state and federal laws, as well as current trends, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, off-duty conduct can have a significant impact on the workplace and on <br />the City as an employer. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) Amends the personnel policy by adding the following off-duty conduct language: <br /> <br />Off-duty Conduct <br /> <br />The City's effectiveness depends upon the respect and confidence of residents, <br />business owners and employees. Inappropriate off-duty conduct is conduct which <br />detracts from community or employee respect and confidence. It is the City's policy <br />to investigate circumstances suggesting that a City employee bas engaged in <br />inappropriate off-duty conduct that reflects unfavorably on the City. If <br />inappropriate off-duty conduct is determined to have occurred,' discipline may be <br />imposed, up to and including termination. <br /> <br />Examples of inappropriate off-duty conduct include, but are not limited to the <br />following: <br />. Moving violations <br />. Theft <br /> <br />. Violence <br /> <br />. Use of City position to manipulate or control <br />. Conviction ofa gross misdemeanor or felony <br />
