<br />Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-11-223 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING BENEFITS CONTRACTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is committed to attracting and retaining quality <br />employees to serve the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, competitively priced benefits are essential to effectively compete for <br />quality employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staffrecommends that the City Council approve two-year benefits contracts <br />with Assurantand Minnesota Life and maintain current contracts with HealthPartners and Delta <br />Dental. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey approves two-year benefits contracts with <br />Assurant and Minnesota Life and maintains current contracts with HealthPartners and <br />Delta Dental. The contracts with Assurant and Minnesota Life will be effective January <br />1, 2009-December 31,2010. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />
