CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Discussion of Lease of Old Municipal <br />Center (City Hall and PD) to MN Renaissance <br />School <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br />Background: <br />Staff was contacted this week by representatives of the MN Renaissance School, which is <br />currently located in Anoka. They are in need of immediate temporary space for their <br />school operations due to mold issues that require remediation in their current facility. <br />Staff met with their representatives this past Friday on site of the old Municipal Center <br />and they toured both the PD and City Hall. MN Renaissance School would like to pursue <br />a lease agreement to allow for the use of the 1“ Floors of the old Police Department and <br />old Municipal Center, and a portion of the basement of the old Police Department. The <br />lease would be for a period of two months, with a one month extension option. <br />Staff is in the process of preparing the terms of a lease agreement and will provide <br />information regarding the general terms during the work session discussion. <br />Action Statement: <br />Direct staff to pursue /not pursue lease agreement with MN Renaissance School for office <br />space in the old Ramsey Municipal Center (City Hall and PD). <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator: <br />CCWS: 01/13/2009 <br />
