Mayor Gamec suggested that he work with Associate Planner Gladhill to look at the notes and
information.
Associate Planner Gladhill read aloud a section from page 5 -18 on whether it is developable or
not.
Mr. Hunt stated that he is just saying it is classified too high.
Councilmember Dehen stated that he thinks Mr. Hunt is asking for an answer and feels the City
should look into it and provide him with an answer and our reasons.
Associate Planner Gladhill stated that he would get this information and communicate with Mr.
Hunt.
Phil Carlson, Bonestroo and Associates, stated that it was one of his colleagues that did the
Natural Resources Inventory, so he will also work with Associate Planner Gladhill to get this
information. He stated that there are several steps that would need to happen before there is any
sort of binding effect on the property. He stated that there is also still a several month period
where there can be additional discussion on this issue.
Associate Planner Gladhill noted that he distributed a memo to the Council that showed some
minor revisions in the Comprehensive Plan before it goes for agency review.
Councilmember Strommen stated that she wanted to thank staff and Mr. Carlson for working
with her on her comments. She stated that she still suggests a map be included. She reviewed a
few minor things that she found. On page 13 -13, there is still a header that says 2001
Comprehensive Plan, on page 5 -3, letter F, quasi is spelled wrong and on page 1 -1, letter C,
Comprehensive Plan is spelled Comprehensive Pan.
Councilmember Elvig asked about the Boy Scout Camp designation as Park. He stated that this
is private land not owned by the City, so it is not a park. He asked if there was another
designation this could get.
Associate Planner Gladhill stated that this could be public /quasi public and recommended it be
added to the motion.
Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to authorize the distribution of
the draft 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update, with the changes in the memo dated December 9,
2008, from Associate Planner Gladhill, that the Boy Scout Camp be changed to public /quasi
public and that staff will review with Mr. Hunt the NRI designation of his property.
Further Discussion: Associate Planner Gladhill stated that he would also like the property
mentioned earlier at 7404 149 Avenue, to be included.
City Council / December 9, 2008
