<br />Member LeTourneau stated the importance of having a clear mission.or agenda before getting <br />such a large group together. He verified with Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan that <br />the strategy will be presented to the participants; they will not be asked to develop the strategy. <br /> <br />Member Skaff suggested presenting the businesses with an action plan that lays out the benefits <br />in terms of shares that could be purchased or an investment certificate. Member Steffen <br />suggested sponsorship levels, such as platinum, silver, and gold. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Miller stated that levels of membership could be interpreted <br />as levels of impact for the study and recommended against it. <br /> <br />Chairperson Riley pointed out that with this action the EDA is becoming involved in Ramsey <br />Town Center, which is a big picture decision and change. <br /> <br />Member Skaff inquired about the anticipated timeframe of the Buxton Study. Economic <br />Development Coordinator Sullivan indicated the first meeting would' be held within one month. <br />The major part of this will be traffic counts, which have to be completed during the summer <br />months. 60 days will be needed to complete the study, with the first three weeks consisting of <br />traffic counts, etc. ' <br /> <br />Motion by Member Kiefer, seconded by Chairperson Riley, to authorize an expenditure from the <br />EDA budget to fund the Buxton Study, with efforts to solicit private participation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Kiefer, LeTourneau, Steffen, and <br />Skaff. Voting No: None. Absent: Members Elvig and Strommen. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan requested authorization to host a meeting of <br />owners from the commercial nodes, as well as other community leaders. Brandon Norrell would <br />be present at the meeting to provide an overview of the details. The meeting would also include a <br />request for participation from the businesses in attendance. He suggested that staff determine <br />details regarding participation levels. He indicated an EDA presence would be desired at the <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Motion by Member LeTourneau, seconded by Member Kiefer, to authorize staff to assemble an <br />appropriate list of business owners and representatives in the community to participate in a <br />meeting to discuss facilitation of the Braxton Study and its use. <br /> <br />Motion carried. The business has continued to grow requiring <br />relocation to an existing building in Ramsey Business Park 95.
