PROJECT: Ermine Boulevard Culvert Replacement <br />BMI PROJECT NO.: R13.39195 <br />OWNER: City of Ramsey <br />CONTRACTOR: Dryden Excavating <br />DATE: January 6, 2009 <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 <br />WHEREAS: The Original Contract provides for the construction of a 14' x 6' box culvert under Ermine <br />Boulevard, and <br />WHEREAS: Due to the timing of the project it has been determined that the proposed temporary bypass <br />pipe needs to be increased from 12" to 24" to accept the existing flows in Trott Brook, and <br />WHEREAS: It has been determined that unsuitable foundation soils exist below the proposed culvert, and <br />WHEREAS: It has been determined that the unsuitable foundation soils need to be excavated and <br />disposed of off site, and <br />WHEREAS: It has been determined that the site needs to be dewatered to allow for the excavation of the <br />unsuitable soils, and <br />WHEREAS: Clean granular borrow will be needed to replace the unsuitable soil below the water table. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT MUTUALLY AGREED THAT: <br />The Contractor shall provide a 24" temporary bypass pipe. In addition, the Contractor shall dewater the <br />site, excavate unsuitable foundation soils, dispose of the soil off site, and backfill below the water table <br />with clean granular borrow as directed by the Engineer.
