As paIi of
that process. the
Ramsey3 group
utilized unique facilitation techniques
to develop a shared vision aIld values
for Ramsey. RaInsey3 was a three-
paIi process designed to assist the
community in chaIiing its future.

The Vision:
Without compromising private
property rights aIld needs of future
generations, RaInsey will evolve
through citizen driven, collaborative
processes that respect the balaIlce and
connectivity behveen its unique ur-
ban. mral aIld natural environments.

The Values:
I. Encourage walkability through
pedestrian friendly neighbor-
hoods aIld traIlSpOliation.

II. Maintain land owner rights.

III. Employ careful foresight in city
planning that includes citizen re-
view, reliance on peer-reviewed
science, aIld comprehensive data
collection and aIlalvsis.

--- IV. Involve all
citizens in deci-
sions that impact
their lives.
property aIld
neighborhoods
through the use
of a facilitated
process such as
collaborative
decision-making.

V. Embrace a people-centered,
long-term perspective that nur-
tures neighborhood and commu-
nity interactions: with flexibility
to meet future needs without
compromising the needs aIld
interests of current residents.

VI. Preserve unique natural resourc-
es for the community and its
current residents.

VII. Attract and sustain businesses
which serve the whole commu-
nity.

The vision and values will be
the framework as we move forward
toward completion of the compre-
hensive planning process and it will
continue to shape the development re-
view process for the city of Ramsey.
If you have any questions regard-
ing these processes. please contact
the Community Development DepaIi-
ment at 763-433-9824.

www.ci.ramsey.mn.us

Volume 23 .
