<br />Community Development Department <br />Efficiency, Consistency, Quality <br /> <br />2009 Plaming Commission Work Plan <br /> <br />Mission Statement: <br /> <br />To guide residential and commercial growth through comprehensive plaming processes and administer <br />the city's building and zoning codes in an equitable and professional manner to promote and sustain <br />public safety, quality oflife, and the health and wen being of the whole community. <br /> <br />Work Plan: <br /> <br />In additi.on to cbnsidering land use applications consistent with the spirit and intent of the Comprehensive <br />Plan and controls ofthe Zoning Code, the following projects shall be completed in 2009: <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plaming <br />. Implement the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> <br />Public Participation <br />. Design public participation plan for development. and policy review <br />. Encourage participation in review of proposals before application is submitted <br /> <br />Zoning Code <br />. Complete all necessary Zoning Code Amendments in order to implement the 2008 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update, including but not limited to: <br />o Remove Rural Preserve and Central Rural Reserve Zoning Designations <br /> <br />. Complete the following Zoning Code Amendments not directly related to the 2008 Update: <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Section 9.02 (Defmitions) <br />o Amend 'Garage, Principal Residential' to reflect recent changes to Home Occupation <br />Ordinance <br />Section 9.03.05 (Conditional Use Pennits) and Section 9.03.06 (Interim Use Permits) <br />o Consider provision for suspension of permits as an alternative to revocation <br />NEW Section 9.1 1.02 Subd. 5 (Temporary Accessory Structures) <br />o Consider regulations for temporary accessory structures (portable storage containers, <br />cargo containers, tents, and membranes, etc.) <br />Section 9.03.08 (Site Plan Review) <br />o Consider waiving site plan review for smaller expansions, decks, and patios in <br />commercial and industrial districts <br />o Could review these site plans administratively <br />NEW Section 9.1 1.02 Subd. 6 (Carports) <br />o Consider provisions for car ports (design and location, size) <br />Section 9.1 1.08 (Off Street Parking) <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />. 0 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br />
