<br />reported that she and City Administrator Ulrich met with representatives of the License <br />Bureau and they are very interested in leasing this space. This could glean us annual <br />revenue from $30,000 to $50,000. They would occupy the western portion of the first <br />floor, but not the entire half. Some work would have to be done to separate the space. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that it is a great idea but to make certain our lease rates are <br />at the market rate. <br /> <br />Ms. Nelson assured Councilmember Jeffrey that the numbers she gave represent the <br />range in the market. We would need to make some changes in the space and we would <br />include that in the price. We are looking for probably a 10-year arrangement and we see <br />them as a good, long-term tenant. She stated that the current municipal center was <br />constructed so we can build up if necessary. We can build up on our current municipal <br />center if we had to. She added that having the license bureau within our City Hall will <br />add to the services provided for in our building. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated it's a good thing - a great location in his opinion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated it is a good opportunity; however, some service you get <br />from the license bureau is less than stellar - sometimes you get attitude. People will <br />identify that with the City so we might take a battering on that. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey asked about signage to which Ms. Nelson replied that signs were talked <br />about but no real specifications were discussed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Look and seconded by Mayor Ramsey to direct staff to <br />pursue a lease agreement with Anoka County License Bureau for office space in the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center and bring it back for Council review. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Look, Dehen, Jeffrey, <br />McGlone and Wise. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />1) Thank you from Councilmember Jeffrey <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey expressed his thank you to the residents for their well wishes <br />during his recovery from back surgery. He stated he is looking forward to getting back to <br />full speed shortly. <br /> <br />2) Leasing of City Buildings <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated that one of the things that he was concerned about when <br />he ran for Council was that the City owned vacant buildings and he thought something <br />should be done with them.
