<br />CONSENT # 5 <br /> <br />APPROVAL FOR EXEMPTION FOR A GAMBLING LICENSE FOR CAP ABLE <br />PARTNERS <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br />The attached application is from Capable Partners for exemption from a lawful gambling license <br />to hold a raffle at Game Fair in Ramsey on August 16, 2009. Capable Partners meets all of the <br />requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the standpoint <br />that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />None Required <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for Capable <br />> Partners to hold a raffle at the Game Fair in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for <br />Capable Partners to hold a raffle at Game Fair on August 16, 2009 and authorize staff to submit a <br />letter to the Gambling Control Board stating approval. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: .... n <br />City Administrator~~V- U <br /> <br />Consent:. 2-10-09 <br /> <br />-11- <br />
