<br />Case # 4 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TO ATTEND THE <br />GLOBAL RETAIL REAL ESTATE CONVENTION BY ICSC <br /> <br />By: Sean M. Sullivan, Economic Development Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The EDA hired the Buxton Group to conduct a market study for Town Center and the 167th <br />Commercial node. The market analysis is complete and on January 27th letters were sent out to <br />Tim Horton, Panera, Uno Restaurants, Great Harvest Bread, Dunkin ponuts, TOI Fridays, <br />Hollywood Tan, Play it Again Sports. A copy of the letter that was sent out is attached for your <br />review. The International Conference of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is an important venue to meet <br />representatives of retail businesses that are being sought for our community. The conference <br />also serves as an educational tool to help Staff become more effective in marketing our City. <br />Buxton has a booth and meeting space available and will allow the City to use that space to meet <br />with prospective clients. As a member of ICSC we are given advance notice on who will be in <br />attendance to the conference and will be able to set up meetings in advance. <br /> <br />The cost for registration to the just conference is $397. Complete packages that include <br />conference registration, travel and lodging start at $972.
