PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT MANIKANS AND OXYGEN EQUIPMENT <br /> By: Police Sergeant Tim Dwyer <br /> <br />The police and fire department is requesting authorization to purchase (5) replacement CPR <br />manikins utilizing money from the Equipment Replacement fund under both police and fire. The <br />police department is also in need of a replacement emergency oxygen kit. <br /> <br />The police and fire department have utilized CPR Manikins purchased in 1979 to train it's members <br />annually. These manikins are in dire need of replacement and have surpassed their life <br />expectancy. With the cost of new manikins down from years past, the police and fire department <br />jointly request to purchase 5 baby manikins and I adult manikin to replace the (2) old ones listed <br />under fixed assets. Purchase would be made from EMP Inc. at a total cost of $ 962.79, including <br />tax and shipping. <br /> <br />The police department also is in need of a replacement oxygen kit to include a regulator, demand <br />valve, and carrying bag. There is sufficient money in the equipment replacement fund to cover this <br />$ 437.00 purchase from PARR Medical Inc. (includes tax and shipping) <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council adopt the Resolution # 02-09-XXX authorizing the purchase of 6 <br />manikins from EMPInc not to exceed $ 963.00; and (1) oxygen kit from PARR Medical not to <br />exceed $ 437.00.
