ISD #728 (Elk River) Special Districts: Metro Agencies Tuesday, December 3, 2002 Wednesday, December 4, 2002 The dates that we are recommending for the City of Ramsey's 2003 public budget hearing and reconvene date (if necessary) are as follows: Initial Hearing Reconvene (if necessary) Monday, December 2, 2002 Monday, December 9, 2002 In order to ensure that public comments received during the public hearing(s) are given due consideration, formal adoption of the levy and 2003 budget must occur at least one day al~er the initial or continuation hearing, but no later than December 30, 2002. We are recommending that the formal adoption occur at the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2002. The public hearing dates must be certified to Anoka County by Monday, September 16, 2002; therefore, the City Council must make a decision as to the dates selected for. the 2003 public hearing(s) at tonights meeting. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends Council approval of the City of Ramsey's payable 2003 proposed tax levy in the amount of $4,834,393 and to schedule the City of Ramsey's initial budget public hearing on Monday, December 2, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. and a reconvene date (if necessary) on Monday, December 9, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. Committee Action: Motion to recommend Council adopt Resolution #02-09-XX Approving the Proposed Maximum 2002, Payable 2003, Tax Levy.
