i, ; .. , t Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #XX-XX- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AUTOMATIC FIRE AID AGREEMENT OF THE COIV~S OF NOWTHEN, OAK GROVE, RAMSEY AND ST. FRANCIS. WHEREAS, the communities of Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey and St. Francis recognize the need for an agreement to provide fire department resources to each other; and WHEREAS, the cities of Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey and St. Francis have entered into this agreement desire to make available to each. other their respective fire service equipment and personnel to assist each other automatically on weekdays, Monday thrlough Friday from S am until 5 pm; and WAF.RFAS, .this agreement is in place inclusive to other ~ Joint Power Agreements such as the Anoka County Fire Protection Council Joint Powers Agreement, and WHEREAS, Minn.: Star. § 438.08 provides that a city 'may by resolution authorize it's fire department, or a portion thereof, to attend and serve at fires or emergencies outside the limits of the municipality; and WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota to -enter into Joint Powers Agreements for the joint exercise of powers to each: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF , ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF NIINNESOTA, as fotlows: l) That the City Council of authorize an agreement to provide . Automatic Fire Aid to the communities of Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey and St. Francis. 2) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to execute the Joint Power Agreement for Automatic Mutual Aid. a The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: -86-
