Councilmember Dehen stated that he feels this is an important educational concept to get out to the public. Public Works Director Olson stated that a problem may be the different lot sizes in the City. Councilmember McGlone suggested it be looked at on a use basis rather than based on lot size. Chair Elvig stated that the overall concept-is that everyone in ~amsey uses Ramsey roads. There was a Consensus to bring this item to a Work Session. COMMITTEE INPUT Future Public Works Topics Public Works Director Olson stated that since there is a new member on the Public Works Committee, he wanted to give an opportunity to include any other items that they would like added to future discussion topics. Councilmember Dehen stated that he would like to see the no whistle zone discussed at a future meeting and have Alpine Drive reconstructed in 2009. He would like Ramsey to be in communication with Elk River regarding the Jarvis intersection. Councilmember McGlone stated that he spoke with one of the Councilmembers from Elk River about the no whistle zone. He stated that the Councilmember informed him that they have costs and studies and are willing to give that information to Ramsey. Public Works Director Olson stated that he has had conversations with BNSF and even if not all four inter,sections are done, if they are contiguous, there can be a quiet zone. He stated that he thinks there could be a quiet zone by next summer for that 2 mile stretch. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Dehen, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to close the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee. Motion carried.
