<br />Councilmember Dehen stated he would be willing to serve on the committee as well. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to appoint Councilmember <br />Dehen and Councilmember.Jeffrey to serve on the committee on behalf of the City Council. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Ramsey asked if the City is limited to appointing two council <br />members. City Administrator Ulrich stated the limit would be three Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Substitute motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to appoint <br />Mayor Ramsey, Councilmember Dehen, and Councilmember Jeffrey to serve on the committee <br />on behalf ofthe City Council. <br /> <br />Substitute motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Look, Dehen, Elvig, <br />Jeffrey, McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich requested clarification regarding the committee and asked if this <br />would be a nine-member committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated this is correct. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Payroll Issue <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that Councilmember McGlone raised an issue regarding payroll <br />during the Personnel Committee meeting earlier this evening and requested. that staff provide <br />fi111her information. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated the Council may wish to put this on a work session agenda. <br /> <br />Sveed Limit Issue <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson reported that he and Councilmember McGlone recently met with <br />representatives from Andover regarding speed limit issues they have been working on; Andover <br />is part of a speed limit task force that the . legislature directed Mn/DOT to bring forward. He <br />stated that a number of issues came up regarding the rural residential district and a request was <br />made by Andover for City staff to meet with Representative Abeler. He stated he wanted the <br />City Council to be aware of this meeting. He stated topics for discussion include speed limits in <br />rural areas, definition of urban district, making sure the legislative definitions are easy to <br />understand, and whether a 30 mph speed limit is appropriate in an urban district. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to proceed with the meeting with Representative Abeler. <br /> <br />City Council!
