The February 17 Public Works Committee meeting was well attended by the neighborhood <br />which had received written invitations to participate in the discussion. Attached to this case are <br />the minutes of this case along with e -mails and written comments submitted relative to this issue. <br />Of the suggestions reviewed the most widely discussed related to; (a) the closure of 142 <br />Avenue between TH 47 frontage road and 142 Avenue; and (b) the restriction of left turning <br />movements from TH 47 on to 142 Avenue during the pm peak hours and left turns from <br />Dysprosium onto 143` Avenue and 142 Lane during the am peak hears. After two and one half <br />hours of testimony and discussion a show of hands indicated a clear majority of people <br />supporting the closure of 142 Avenue. <br />Recommendations: <br />The Public Works Committee recommended the closure of 142 Avenue between Argon Street <br />and the TH 47 frontage road on a temporary basis beginning March 17, 2009 and lasting for one <br />year.
