ORDINANCE #08 -28 <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING <br />AND PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7.51 (CHARITABLE GAMBLING) <br />OF CITY CODE <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the <br />City of Ramsey: <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS <br />7.61 Charitable Gambling <br />7.61.02 Definitions. For the purposes of this Section, the following words and <br />terms will have the meanings given them: <br />(1) "Board" means the State Gambling Control Board <br />(2) "Lawful Gambling" means the operation of gambling activities by an <br />organization eligible for a license from the Board to conduct such activities. <br />(3) . "Net Profits ", "Lawful Purpose", and . "Allowable Expense" will have the <br />meanings provided in Minnesota Statutes Section 349.12 as may be amended <br />from time to time. <br />(4) "Premises Permit" means a resolution adopted by the City Council authorizing <br />the named organization to operate lawful gambling activities at a specified <br />location in the City. <br />(5) "Trade Area" includes the Cities of Ramsey, Anoka, Andover, Elk River, <br />Dayton and Nowthen. <br />(6) "Organization" means as defined by Minnesota Statutes Section 349.12 and <br />which organization is licensed to conduct lawful gambling by the Board. <br />7.61.05 Conditions. The conduct of lawful gambling under license issued by the <br />Board shall be subject to the following conditions in the City: <br />a. Lease Agreement. A copy of any lease agreement between a non - profit <br />organization and a gambling location owner or operator shall be filed with the <br />Administrator together with the premises permit application; <br />-54- <br />
