<br />Silt fencing is needed for any grading changes (addressed in project estimates) <br />One plant on the planting list has been identified as potentially invasive and should be <br />replaced. (Flame Miscanthus) <br />One trail connection to each destination should be ADA compliant. (addressed in grading <br />plans) <br />Benches should be commercial grade. (addressed in project specifications) <br />When will the improvements be completed? (addressed by the timeline) <br />Abutting property objections (addressed by Site #2) <br />Landscaping should be hardy & low maintenance. (addressed by prame grasses and <br />wildflowers) <br />Drainage should keep sidewalk free from ice. <br />All volunteers and others working on City property should complete a waiver of liability <br />form. <br />Who is responsible for maintaining the improvements? (addressed by the maintenance <br />agreement) <br />Visibility oftrail from street on Site #2. (this could be addressed by removing a few proposed <br />trees) <br /> <br />As described in the draft maintenance agreement, the applicant will be responsible for the <br />maintenance of any improvements made to the memorial area. Predicted maintenance needs <br />include: <br />1. Mowing grass <br />2. Maintaining landscaping <br />3. Watering of landscaping as needed. <br />4. Emptying of trash receptacle. <br /> <br />The City Council identified some new concerns including: <br />Will parking be adequate near the memorial site? <br />Is there a more appropriate location for this memorial? <br />Which children will be allowed to be included in the memorial and which will not? <br /> <br />The City. Council indicated that a timeline for completion of park improvements should be <br />required. Requiring proof of funds prior to starting construction could give assurance of timely <br />project completion. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />Costs associated with processing of application and proposal are handled through normal staff <br />duties. All development and maintenance costs are the responsibility of the applicants. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion. Review draft maintenance agreement and Adopt-A-Spot proposal. <br />
