Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners Deemer, Zimmerman and <br />Bawden. Voting No: Commissioner Thomd. Absent: Commissioners LaDue and Terry. <br /> <br />Motion by Comrnissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to have #13 read" ... <br />the variance will not increase the danger .... " <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners Bawden, Thorud, and <br />Deemer. Voting No: Commissioner Zimmerman. Absent: Commissioners LaDue and Terry. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to adopt Findings of <br />Fact #0298, as amended, relating to Tim and Brenda Smith's request for a variance from the street <br />frontage requirement. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners Deemer, Thorud, Bawden <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners LaDue and Terry. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that if the Smith's don't agree with the decision set down by the <br />Board of Adjustment, they can appeal to City Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer reiterated his feeling that the Smith's should apply for a minor subdivision <br />as opposed to this variance. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Zimmerman to deny Tim and <br />Brenda Smith's request for a variance from the street frontage requirement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners Deemer, Zimmerman and <br />Bawden. Voting No: Commissioner Thorud. Absent: Commissioners LaDue and Terry. <br /> <br />Commissioner Th l~rud stated his reason for opposition is because there are other alternatives to a <br />variance. <br /> <br />Chairman Hendriksen explained the following options to the Smiths: 1) Appeal the decision to <br />City Council; 2) plan a minor subdivision with a cul-de-sac and the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission can recommend waiving paving requirements; and 3) plan a minor subdivision and <br />dedicate a east/west street easement through the parcel to be developed at a later date. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner Zimmerman to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners Bawden, Zimmerman, <br />Deemer and Thor,& Voting No: None.
