that he had the contracting jobs he was claiming (a written contract or even a verbal confirmation
from people he was going to do work for). The period of time he is asking disability benefits for
needs to be clarified. He also needs a "guesstimate" as to how long the Doctor feels he will be
disabled after his November surgery. This information should be to Mrs. Helling by October 1,
1991 to allow time to review the information before October 9, 1991, 6:00 p.m. which is the time
scheduled to reconvene this case. If Mr. Guimont does not provide the additional information by
the date named, a recommendation will go to Council based on the current information.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmember Peterson, Boardmembers Drahos and Sharp,
Councilmember Cich, Boardmembers Kapler and Pearson. Voting No: None.

BOARD INPUT

Chief Griffin stated that the position of Fire Marshal had been discussed at a previous meeting. He
handed out job descriptions for a Fire Marshal and a Fire Inspector. He stated these are still
volunteer positions, but if they are the same person, it will take a lot of this individual's time. In
talking with other cities, the feeling seems to be that if these are volunteer positions, it should
probably be two different people. He stated he would like this to be a case for discussion for the
October 9, 1991 meeting. He requested the Board review the positions before that meeting and he
would like them to recommend to City Council that these positions be established.

Councilmember Peterson asked for feedback on the proposed ordinance regarding burning
permits.

Chief Griffin stated that he feels it is close to being finished. He stated that the Police Chief,
Zoning Administrator, Environmental Specialist and himself have put a great deal of time in on this
subject. He felt it would be ready to present to City Council in the very near future.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Boardmember Sharp and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmember Peterson, Boardmember Sharp, Councilmember
Cich and Boardmembers Drahos, Kapler and Pearson. Voting No: None.

The regular Fire Board meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
~/Recording Secretary

City Administrator

Fire Board/August 28, 1991
