The Park Improvement Trust Fund has a balance of approximately $4,168,111. Approval of <br />Resolution X:XX would allocate anot-to-exceed amount of $333,806 for the park portions of the <br />Sunfish Lake Park project 08 - 22. <br />The Trail Fund balance is approximately $197,633. Approval of Resolution x:XX would <br />allocate anot-to-exceed amount of $98,561 for the trail construction from Sunwood Drive, -north <br />and parallel to Sunf sh Lake Boulevard to connect to the existing trail, south of Alpine Drive <br />(also improvement project 08 - 22). <br />The above park and trail elements are included within the 2009 Parks Capital Improvement plan <br />document, and are consistent with both the funding source and estimated budget. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />The Park and Recreation Commission and staff, recommend moving forward with this project <br />due to the need for these amenities in Ramsey, as well as the value represented to the community <br />by constructing the park and trail at this time. <br />Also, it is believed that many residents in Ramsey will benefit economically for many years by <br />having .this no-cost, natural. resource-based park and trail system for their families' leisure, <br />learning, and recreation. <br />City Council Action: <br />Motion to approve Resolution 09-03-~~ awarding Improvement Project #08-22, Sunfish Lake <br />Park and Trail Project and authorizing entering into a contract with American Liberty <br />Construction Inc. <br />Motion to approve Resolution 09-03-XXX authorizing transfer of park improvement trust funds <br />for construction of IP#08-22, Sunfish Lake Park and Trail Project <br />Reviewed by: <br />Copies to: <br />Director of Public Works/ Principal City Engineer <br />City Administrator:- '`~ <br />CC: 03/24/09 <br />-149- <br />
