Community Development Director Miller stated the highest district in the City is the Town <br />Center (TC 1 zoning) which is two to five stories, and that would be the highest allowable area in <br />the City. She stated staff would prepare an amendment with height restrictions and setback <br />requirements consistent with the highest district in the City. <br />Case #5: Staff Update <br />The Staff Update was noted. <br />Associate Planner Gladhill stated staff has received two responses to the Comprehensive Plan <br />Update, one from Andover with no comments, and the other from Dayton. He stated Dayton <br />included some comments. regarding the River crossing, including Dayton's willingness to work <br />with the City on Cloquet Island. <br />Case #6: Zoning Bulletin <br />The Zoning Bulletin was noted. <br />OTHER COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />1) Schedule March 2009 Planning Commission Meeting <br />The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for Thursday, March S, 2009; <br />staff will confirm availability. <br />Chairperson Nixt requested an update regarding the board and commission appointment process. <br />Community Development Director Miller stated the Council extended terms to March 31 for <br />those commissioners whose terms had expired. She indicated the Council is moving forward <br />with the process of getting applicants appointed to vacancies on boards and commissions. She <br />added incumbents will not be required to reapply but will be required to interview with the <br />Council. She noted that Commissioners Brauer and Levine will be interviewed by the Council <br />because their terms expired at the end of 2008. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Levine, seconded by Commissioner Hunt, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Levine, Hunt, Brauer, and <br />Rogers. Voting No: None.
