Commissioner Brauer asked if they could move this to the City Council with the note that public
input and City Council approval has to be part of the adoption of the official wetland map.

Chairperson Nixt stated that when the ordinance applies and what the prohibitions are for
maintenance need to be addressed, and with those caveats he could make a recommendation to
the City Council.

Mr. Hunt asked if he has a 50-foot setback from the wetlands, would this increase that setback.

Zoning and Recycling Coordinator Anderson indicated that in the current draft, it would not; the
setback and buffer would be one and the same.

Mr. Hunt stated he has a map from 1985 that defines his wetlands, which has been increased to
22 acres. He indicated he asked the DNR what he can do on that lan~, and they said he could
mow it as long as he was not changing the water drainage. He asked if that would change.

Zoning and Recycling Coordinator Anderson stated it would not change without a trigger.

Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to recommend that the
City Council adopt the proposed wetland buffer ordinance with the following inclusions:
1. The wetland delineation map must be approved by the City Council following a public
hearing.
2. Conditions when the ordInance is triggered should be spelled out in 9.26.05.
3. Responsibilities for property owners concerning the maintenance of buffers must be clear
and thorough. .

Motion Carried.
