RAMSEY <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Ramsey Planning Commission <br />\ <br />Community Development Staff <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in March 2009 that may be of <br />interest to the Planning Commission: <br /> <br />WindTurbines and Generators. The City Council adopted the Interim Ordinance to enact a moratorium <br />on Wind Turbines and Generators. <br /> <br />Definition of Primary Residential Garage and Home Occupation. The City Council adopted the <br />ordinance amending the definitions of Primary Residential Garage and Home Occupation. <br /> <br />Administrative Site Plan Review. The City Council introduced the ordinance to amend the Site Plan <br />Review process. The City Council included in the proposed ordinance a 14 day waiting period to allow. <br />the Planning Commission and City Council the opportunity to request a full review. The Zoning <br />Administrator and City Administrator would have the discretion to require full review of Site Plans as <br />needed. It is anticipated that the Planning Commission would be notifIed as soon as an application for <br />Administrative Site Plan Review was received by Staff.. <br /> <br />Ramsey Town Center Settlement Update. Attached to the Staff Update is a press release regarding the <br />settlement of litigation between the City of Ramsey and Minnwest Bank Central related to the Ramsey <br />Town Center Addition. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Update. Staff has received official comment on the draft Comprehensive Plan <br />from the city of Anoka, Anoka County, and the City of Oak Grove. Responses are included for your <br />review. Staff understands that review of the draft was scheduled for review by the City of Elk River City <br />Council, but has not received a formal response to date. It appears that the plan will be ready for the <br />Metropolitan Council to review in late Mayor early June. <br /> <br />Extension of Appointments. The City Council has scheduled Boards and Commissions Applicant <br />Interviews, but that process will not be complete for the April Planning Commission. The Planning <br />Commission may recall that the appointment of two Planning Commissioners was extended until March <br />31, 2009, or until the appointment is filled through the recruitment process. These two Planning <br />Commissioners will continue to have full appointment and voting rights for the April Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />PC: 04.02.09 <br /> <br />75 <br />
