PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing regarding the request to <br />consider amending terms of conditional use permit, case of James Monson on Tuesday, July 2, <br />1991 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairman Gerald Zimmerman <br />Commissioner David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer (arrived at 7:35 p.m.) <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Rebecca Pederson - 15801 Traprock Street N.W. - was at the public hearing representing the area <br />residents in their request for the amendment to the conditional use permit. Ms. Pederson stated that <br />it would be aesthetically beneficial to wait until the tower is constructed to determine proper <br />placement of the trees for screening. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Sylvia Frolik stated that residents in the area of Mr. Monson's proposed HAM radio tower <br />requested that the City reconsider the terms of the conditional use permit issued to James Monson. <br />The term that area residents would like reconsidered is that which requires Mr. Monson to plant a <br />coniferous tree every 15 - 20 feet along the front property line. The residents are now asking that <br />the conditional use permit be amended to require that the placement of trees for screening purposes <br />be determined following the construction of the tower. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to adjourn the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Bawden, Deemer, LaDue, <br />Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None.
