BOARD INPUT

Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the Council would be reviewing applications
during the worksession tomorrow night, for Board and Commission vacancies. He eXplained
that the worksession is open to the fublic and would also include two other agenda items. He
advised that March 11th, 18th and 25 are the dates being considered for interviews.

Chairperson McDilda questioned when the information from the strategic planning session
would be available to the public.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson thought that it might occur at the next meeting for the
Council, but was unsure if the item had been added to the agenda.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the Board may wish to consider a couple
dates that could be forwarded to City Council for a possible joint meeting to discuss priorities
now that City Council has completed the strategic planning sessions.

Board Member Max thought that one of the EPB regular meetings and a regular worksession
date for the backup date should be provided for the joint meeting.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson did not feel that it would be beneficial to choose a
worksession date, as time may be somewhat limited depending on what else may be on the
agenda that evening. He advised that the Board might want to consider both an evening and
morning time for a possible meeting.

Chairperson McDilda thought that the Board should wait for the results of the current discussion
before choosing a date for a joint meeting.

Board Member Max questioned if an Arbor Day event had yet been discussed for this year.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that there would be an Arbor Day event but the
details had not yet been finalized. He stated that Village Bank had also shown interest in
participating in the event again this year. He advised that he would have the details finalized by
the time the Expo occurs so that it could be advertised at that time.

Board Member Max questioned if any action had been taken on the logging of diseased pines.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he did get approval to apply for a grant jointly
with Andover, to submit for possible funding from the DNR but that any actual work would
likely not occur until this fall/winter.

Board Member Bentz questioned if the aerial photographs would be displayed at the Expo
regarding the problem in Ramsey.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson explained that due to the weather the photos did not turn
out very well and did not think it would be appropriate to display those. He stated that he did
have some pictures, taken from the ground that could possibly be displayed.

ADJOURNMENT

Environmental Policy Board / March 2, 2009
Page 8 of9
