Background:
As the Park and Recreation Commission members are aware, the Commission has been
participating in the Environmental Expo by staffing a booth providing general park information
to the public. This is the 32 year the City is holding the tree sale /expo - which is quite unique
for a community. The April 25` 2009 event is summarized in the attached article published in
the Ramsey Resident.
At March's regular meeting, Commissioners' agreed to general times when they would staff the
event, and staff agreed to set up for the event with various items of public interest. The purpose
of this case is to remind residents viewing the meeting of the event - and also to mention that
there is increasing interest in the community garden project. To respond to this, two residents
will staff a table next to the Park and Recreation Commission, and the Environmental Policy
Board's, to advertise the proposed project, and to collect names of interested parties,
Commission Action:
None required — informational only.
RAMSEY'S ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO
By: Mark Riverblood, Parks Supervisor
Reviewed by:
Director of Public Works /Principal City Engineer
Environmental Coordinator
P &R: 4/9/09
CASE #2
25
