-144-
Already the tragedy down the street has altered the way we live our lives and use our property.
Shortly after the accident, we were headed out to the pool for a swim. We observed the residents
of Junkite Street gather, hold hands and bow their heads. It was off in the distance but it still
made us very sad, our hearts ached for them and took us back to the painful place we know too
well.. We. returned_to the house until the gatherings dispersed, We felt it would have been
disrespectful to continue our activities while they were gathered.
Given the close proximity to our personal space and our own ongoing struggles to deal with the
grief of loss we ask the Development Staff, the Park and Recreation Commissioners, the Mayor,
the City Council Members and the residents of Junkite to recommend and accept a site other than
site #1 for this mem.oriaI park.
We invite you to visit our home at 14757 Krypton Court and view proposed site #1 from inside
our home, from our deck and from the side of our pool. You will better understand the
significant impact this memorial park will have on my family and our future back yard
experiences.
We have addition concerns and look forward to discussing them with you when this topic is
revisited at the up coming community .public meetings.
Sincerely,
c4)
Rhonda and Joe Hong
