Chairperson McDilda stated that the Board Members could also take names of interested parties that would like to join the Board. He thought that the shift times could be worked out at the next meeting. He also thought that if additional help was needed for setup, that some of the Board Members could volunteer to assist. Chairperson McDilda advised that in regard to the poster contest, the school has never opened it to the whole school and usually just chooses a grade level. Environmental Coordinator Anderson inquired about the status of the poster contest. Chairperson McDilda advised that he has submitted the flyer for approval, but did not foresee any issues with the flyer. Board Member Max questioned who would judge the event. Chairperson McDilda thought that the Board could determine that along the way. Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he could donate a small amount from the budget for a few small prizes to motivate the kids and get them excited. Chairperson McDilda thought a, possible idea would be to purchase a small tree and have the EPB deliver and help plant the tree at the child's home. Board Member Bentz questioned if there was interest in the water cycle display from the prior year. Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that that program had run out of funding and explained that the contact person was going to try to obtain those displays without a volunteer. He stated that he had reserved some information from the MPCA, such as Bernie the Burn Barrel, and a few pull -down displays. Board Member Max advised that if they are not able to access that display, he could try to reserve the display from the Tree Trust, which is similar. Case #2 Sunfish Lake Park Design Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the Board had requested information on the proposed Sunfish Lake Park. He explained that Parks Supervisor Riverblood had a scheduling conflict but did provide his PowerPoint presentation for the Board to review. He explained that the intent was to minimize the impact to the environment and to keep the area as natural as possible. He advised of some of the proposed features of the park, such as a picnic pavilion, walking bridge, a canoe rack and launch, and meandering trails. Board Member. Max thought that there was quite a drop -off between the street and lake level. Environmental Coordinator Anderson explained that is why there is an emphasis on moving that portion of the trail back up along the road, to minimize the impact on the vegetation in that area. He displayed a sketch and the proposed location for the entrance sign for the park, which would be constructed of heavy timber logs and would have a rustic look to it.
