If the rate of speed of a <br />motor-vehicle, operated on any public highway in this state, in going around a corner or curve in <br />a highway, where the operator's view of the road traffic is obstructed, exceeds six (6) miles per <br />hour, such rate of speed shall. be prima facie evidence that the person operating such motor- <br />vehicle is runningata rate of speed greater than is reasonable and proper, having regard to .the <br />traffic and the use oUhe way, or so as to endanger the life or limb or injure the property of. any <br />person, <br /> <br />1917 - General'Statute Section 2635 - Statutes renumbered and the in-town distance changed <br />from 1/8 to 1/10 mile. <br /> <br />1925 - If the rate of speed of any motor vehicle operated on any highway where the same <br />passes through the closely-built-up portions of any municipality, or where the traffic Is <br />congested, exceeds 15 miles an hour for a distance of one-tenth of a mile, or if the rate of speed <br />of any motor vehicle operated on any highway where the same passes through the residence <br />portion of any municipality exceeds .20 miles an hour for a distance of one-tenth of a mile, or if <br />the rateef speed of any motor vehicle operated on any highway outside the closely-built~up <br />business portions and the residence portions of any municipality exceeds 35 miles an hour for a <br />distance of one-quarter of a mile, such rate of speed shall be prima facie evidence that the <br />person operating such motor vehicle is driving at a rate of speed greater than is reasonable ii:\nd <br />proper. <br /> <br />Seo.16.
