<br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey to adopt Resolution #09-03-068 <br />to authorize the Police Department to complete and submit two grant request applications offered <br />through the COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP) for two licensed officers. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: The Council discussed what would happen in a possible layoff scenario. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, McGlone, <br />and Wise. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Report from Finance Committee <br />1. Review and Adopt Midyear 2009 Amended General Fund Budget <br />2. City of Anoka Aquatic Center Funding Request <br /> <br />Councilmember Look noted that the Finance Committee met earlier this evening and stated that <br />he wanted to give a general run down of their discussion. He reviewed the Midyear 2009 <br />Amended General Fund Budget and noted that the Finance Committee recommended approval. <br />He stated that normally the City gives $4,000 to the Anoka Aquatic Center towards a discounted <br />fee for Ramsey residents. He stated that it was the recommendation of the Parks Commission <br />not to continue with this subsidy and to possibly put this money towards planning for the future <br />community center. <br /> <br />There was Council discussion about whether to subsidize the Anoka Aquatic Center. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to adopt Resolution #09- <br />03-069 Amending the 2009 General Fund Budget with proposed revenue additions/reductions <br />and expenditure reductions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers Look, Wise, Dehen, Jeffrey <br />and McGlone. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to accept the <br />recommendation from the Finance Committee and discontinue the $4,000 per year subsidy to the <br />Anoka Aquatic Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers Look, Wise, Jeffrey and <br />McGlone. Voting No: Councilmember Dehen. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Town Hall Meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that the Town Hall meeting last Thursday had good attendance and they <br />discussed the Ramsey Town Center situation. <br /> <br />City Council / March 24, 2009 <br />Page 8 of9 <br />
