facilities to which Mayor Ramsey replied Allina and Mr. Ulrich stated there has been
some interest from the Mayo Clinic - plus extended care facilities. Councilmember
Dehen asked if we could make direct contact with the Mayo Clinic and let them know the
City controls portions of the land. Mr. Ulrich responded that we could contact them
directly but we should know the price we are asking first. Councilmember Look
commented that Tim Berning might be interested in coming back. Mayor Ramsey stated
he definitely would like to see a medical facility built. Councilmember Dehen disagreed
that the sole focus is to go out there and try to land something specific. He felt there is a
lot of opportunity out there - a medical facility would be great, a small college campus
would be great, a Target store would be great. .. It's tough to put all your eggs in one
basket.

Mr. Ulrich reiterated that we could go back to Jim Lasher and get a proposal to get us
through the visioning. He thought that could be fairly minor and when we get to other
parts in the process, we could talk with other consultants. He stated he would get another
quote from Mr. Lasher and let Council know.

Mayor Ramsey asked that when the Town Center is on the agenda, that it be more
specific to an item versus the broad topic of RTC. The discussion ends up all over the
place and it's too difficult to really accomplish something.

ADJOURNMENT

Consensus was to adjourn the City Council work session at 9:31 p.m.

~ C t:J)

''Kurtis G.
