Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Review and Adopt Midyear 2009 Amended General Fund Budget <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund presented the staff report and noted that this will create a balanced budget <br />for 2009. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked about the Ramsey Town Center purchase. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund stated that the next step will be to bring the abatement forms to the closing <br />on June 26, 2009. She noted that the tax settlement for that will not be seen until December and <br />noted that this number is not included in the budget information being presented tonight. <br /> <br />Chairperson Look asked how the gas prices were calculated. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund stated that they used $4.00 per gallon. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the resolution Amending the 2009 General Fund Budget with proposed <br />'revenue additionslreductions and expenditure reductions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: <br />None. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />City of Anoka Aquatic Center Funding Request <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood presented his staff report, noted that the Parks Commission has <br />discussed this more than once, and is recommending that the City not continue with the $4,000 <br />subsidy to the Anoka Aquatics Center. He stated that the Parks Commission felt that the City <br />could allocate these monies to planning for the future community center. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked about the possibility of some kind of joint program with the <br />Andover YMCA. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated that they do not have resident rates, just memberships, and <br />noted that the Parks Commission felt that the City could monitor this for one year and see what <br />happens. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed ways of setting aside the $4,000 for the community center. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to recommend that the <br />City Council take the recommendation from the Parks Commission and discontinue the $4,000 <br />per year subsidy to the Anoka Aquatic Center. <br /> <br />Finance Committee / March 24, 2009 <br />Page 2 of3 <br />
