Case #1: Environmental Expo and Booth Discussion <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />The Board generally discussed staffing of the booth. It was apparent that there would likely be <br />sufficient coverage throughout the event and so no specific shifts were identified. <br />Board Member Freeburg reminded the others that he would not be able to attend the expo event <br />this year. <br />Acting Chairperson Max and Board Members Stodola and Bentz all stated that they would be <br />available to assist with some of the. setup work Friday evening. <br />Case #2 Wetland Protection Ordinance `Status <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Board Member Freeburg recommended that a thank you letter be sent to Jamie Schurbon and <br />Dennis Rodacker with the Anoka Conservation District for Mr. Schurbon's review and comment <br />on the wetland buffer ordinance. <br />Discussion on this ensued with the Board ultimately deciding that a thank you letter from the <br />Board, not the City, would be sent. <br />Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Stodola that the <br />Environmental Policy Board send a thank you letter to Mr. Schurbon and Mr. Rodacker. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Max, Board Members Bentz, Freeburg, and <br />Stodola.. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson McDilda and Board Member Sibilski. <br />Case #3: Arbor Day Event <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Mr. John Enstrom stated that he would like to see the City offer some sort of memorial tree in <br />remembrance of Ramsey soldiers that have lost their lives.. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the Park and Recreation Commission was <br />going to be discussing a memorial tree/garden policy at their next meeting and that ultimately, <br />the policy would be discussed by City Council: He stated that the policy should be finalized <br />before any type of memorial tree is considered. <br />The Board determined that the Arbor Day planting event should occur as part of their regular <br />May meeting. <br />BOARD INPUT <br />Environmental Policy Board / Apri16, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
