<br />Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #09-05-095 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ANOKA COUNTY HOUSING AND <br />REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (HRA) TO RELEASE HELD FUNDS TO <br />THE CITY TO BE USED IN THE PURCHASE OF RAMSEY TOWN CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, annually the Anoka County HRA levies an HRA levy on Ramsey residents; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the levy has been used to help pay the debt service of the Savannah Oaks <br />Senior Housing Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after all applicable debt service payments, the HRA levy has created a <br />positive balance, held on behalf ofthe City by the County BRA, in the amount of $595,641; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City would like to have the County BRA release these funds to the City <br />and its Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to be used towards the purchase price of <br />the Ramsey Town Center foreclosed land; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority will be acquiring the <br />Ramsey Town Center property in June, 2.0.09. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the Ramsey City Council authorizes the request of the Anoka County HRA funds, <br />held on behalf of the City, to be returned to the City. <br /> <br />2. When funds, estimated to be $595,641 are received from the Anoka County HRA, the <br />City Council will have the City's BRA apply these funds towards the purchase price of <br />the Ramsey Town Center project. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Jeffrey, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Wise <br /> <br />Resolution #.09-.05-.095 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
