<br />Cctse M;L <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO ANOKA COUNTY FOR ABATEMENT OF SPECIAL <br />ASSESSMENTS ON RAMSEY TOWN CENTER FORECLOSED PARCELS <br />By: Amber G. Miller, Community Development Director <br />Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 26, 2009 the Anoka County Board authorized a person within the property tax division to handle <br />the abatement of the Ramsey Town Center special assessments. This authorization allows the City to abate <br />the special assessments if and only if the Ramsey Town Center land purchase, on the proposed date of June <br />26,2009, is completed. <br /> <br />As part of the process, the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment .Authority (HRA) as purchaser of the <br />property will be required to complete the County's application for abatement on each parcel affected. <br /> <br />Findings: <br /> <br />Attached you will find twenty applications authorizing abatement. These applications represent the twenty <br />parcels that are foreclosed in the Ramsey Town Center Project area. Each parcel to be abated will include <br />the principal amount of the special assessments and the respective principal and interest applicable to the <br />special assessments through the closing date of June 26, 2009. A summary of the amounts to be abated are <br />shown on the attached resolution. The amount of applicable penalties and interest shown reflects through <br />the period of May 31,2009.
