As you know for many
years our cities have been coordinating future trail connections, with the trail along the
Mississippi being the highest priority. This proposed trail will provide an alternate method
of transportation along the congested Highway 10 corridor as well as provide access to
our states most valued natural resource, the Mississippi River.

We are encouraged by your grant application and thank you for the opportunity to submit
a letter of support on behalf of the City of Elk River Parks and Recreation Department. I
look forward to working with you in the future.

Sincerely,

_~~ ?&r-----
William Maertz
Director

04/03/2009
