Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #09-06-XXX RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A COST -SHARING AGREEMENT WITH THE ANOKA COUNTY REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY FOR FINAL DESIGN FOR THE NORTHSTAR COMMUTER RAIL STATION IN RAMSEY WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received a request from Anoka County to pay for 50 percent of the final design for a rail station in the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, the cost to the City would be $150,000; and WHEREAS, staff has identified a funding source in the Landfill Trust Fund (current balance approximately $3.6 million) that could be used for this purpose; and WHEREAS, revenue from future land proceeds could be used to reimburse the Landfill Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has an interest m movmg this project forward expeditiously; and WHEREAS, adoption of this resolution is formal approval of the cost-share agreement with the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: 1) That the City of Ramsey is interested in moving the Northstar Rail project forward. 2) That by adopting this resolution, the City Council approves the cost share agreement with the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority in the amount of$150,000, funded from the Landfill Trust Fund. 3) That the terms of the agreement would acknowledge that the City's contribution would be accepted as contribution to the local share of capital costs and when the monies become available through Federal, State or County funding, that the City of Ramsey's contribution be considered for reimbursement from these funds. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent:
