CASE # A <br />AWARD BIDS FOR 2009 ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br />By: Steven J. Jankowski, Assistant City Engineer <br />Background: <br />On March 10, 2009, the City Council authorized the 2009 Annual Street Maintenance <br />Program. Bids are scheduled to be opened on Friday, June 19, 2009 and will be <br />presented at the Council meeting. <br />You may recall that a petition was received in April opposing IP 09 -11, a bituminous <br />overlay in the BARTHEL' S RUM RIVER 2 ADDITON, due to financial concerns and <br />pavement condition. This petition was discussed at the April 21, 2009 Public Works <br />Committee, and received by the City Council on April 28, 2009. This project will be <br />evaluated in the future, as will the current policy related to projects defeated by petitions. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is recommending the City Council adopt the resolution to awarding bids for the - <br />2009 Annual Street Maintenance program. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #09- 06 -XXX awarding bids for the 2009 annual Street <br />Maintenance Program.
