Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #09- 06 -XXX <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 08 -21, <br />WATER TOWER #3 AT 16600 ST. FRANCIS BOULEVARD <br />WHEREAS, on May 12, 2009 the Ramsey City Council authorized the solicitation of <br />bids from plans prepared by Progressive Consulting Engineers, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bid for Improvement Project 08 -21, Water <br />Tower 43 at 16600 St. Francis Boulevard, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to <br />law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: <br />Contractor <br />Base Bid <br />Alternate A <br />Alternate B <br />Total Bid <br />Caldwell Tanks <br />$3,298,000 <br />$9,900 <br />$325,000 <br />$3,632,900 <br />Chicago Bridge & Iron <br />$3,178,000 <br />$10,400 <br />$370,000 <br />$3,558,400 <br />WHEREAS, Chicago Bridge & Iron is the lowest responsible bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Chicago Bridge and Iron for Improvement Project 08 -21, Water Tower #3 at <br />16600 St. Francis Boulevard in the amount of $3,188,400, which price reflects the base bid <br />and alternate A; and <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />RESOLUTION #09- 06 -XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
