<br />PRESENTATION - The City's Auditing Firm of Malloy Montague, Karnowski, <br />Radosevich & Company - City's 2008 Audit <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund introduced Aaron Nielson of Malloy, Montague, Karnowski, Radosevich <br />and Company to present the 2008 Financial Report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey left the Council Chambers at 7:08 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Nielson briefly reviewed the 2008 Financial Report information and noted that they have <br />issued a clean designation for the reports. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen left the Council Chambers at 7:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Nielson noted that the utility funds did end the year with positive assets. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey returned to the Council Chambers at 7:11 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that it is important to note that citizens have had concerns that the <br />City is in financial trouble and from the comments from the ,auditor and winning the earlier <br />award for 13 straight years, it seems clear that the City is in good financial health. He noted that <br />the financial reports are open for the citizens in the City to review. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund noted that the public copy will be available in the reception area and on the <br />website, beginning Wednesday, June 10,2009, and can be found under the Finance Department <br />tab. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Leroy Kessler, 6774 137th Avenue, stated that he would like to know why there was an elaborate <br />sprinkler system put in, by the City, in a nearby park that is never used. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen returned to the Chambers at 7:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated that the irrigation system was approved and paid for <br />completely by Park Dedication fees and had been planned for many years. He stated that it was <br />felt that the adjoining properties were irrigated and there had been complaints from neighbors <br />relating to dandelions on this property. He noted that the irrigation system is not quite ready to <br />be up and running, but it will be operational soon. <br /> <br />Mr. Kessler stated that he just wanted to be assured that the taxpayers would not be assessed for <br />this project. <br /> <br />The Citizen Input portion of the meeting ended at 7: 17 p.m <br /> <br />City Council / June 9, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 14 <br />
