Comfort Suites is owned by GB Properties the Grosslein
family is GB Properties, so Grosslein is still a presence in Ramsey. The Grosslein Beverage
location is being used by Dahlheimer as a temporary overflow facility and is currently for sale.

Discussion opened by City A4ministrator Ulrich, is the location suitable for a gun range, we
have someone interested in a gun range in Ramsey and are looking for a suitable site. Economic
Development Coordinator Sullivan will add the site to the list.

Town Center: Closing still o~ schedule for Friday June 26, 2009.

Business Expo: The Expo was held as scheduled on April 25, 2009, there were 45 businesses
that were in attendance; 2 did not show up. The Expo was a hit, all feedback was positive and
the businesses and residents expressed the need to bring this event back again next year. There
. was a synergy between the Environmental Expo/Tree Sale & the Business Expo, and staff would
like to coordinate the events to be held together again for 20 10 if possible. Thoughts are to fmd
a location that can support both events together at one location, or to hold them separately and at
different times, as the Tree Sale is limited to the tree planting season. The Lord of Life Church
and the Fountains of Ramsey were suggested at future sites for the event. This topic will be
revisted at a later meeting.

MEMBER INPUT

Tinklenberg Group: Chairperson Riley has asked how Tinklenberg running for office affects
the contract that the city holds with The Tinklenberg Group and if it will impact the re-
appropriation process. Member Look weighed in and reiterated that he was assured by a credible
source in the Bachmann office yesterday that that did not impact their decision. Economic
Development Coordinator Sullivan stated that Staff was directed to get some private
participation to supplement $18,000.00 EDA allocation. City Administrator Ulrich weighed in
that a great majority of the money came from Jim Deal and that the other portion came from
Dennis Sharp. The Bachmann office did not submit the Ramsey project as part of the
reauthorization package. There were 25 other projects to choose from and only 5 were selected.
The $36,000.00 expenditure for lobbying hasn't produced immediate results but valuable
relationships have been built and there are other avenues in the Senate that have yet to be
exhausted. Efforts to work with Franken's and Klobachar's offices to move this project forward
will continue.

Store Closing: Comrhunity Development Directoru Miller reported that .. Midwest -Wine &
Apparel located on the comer of Bunker Lake Blvd NW and St. Francis Blvd NW would be
closing, not sure of the final close date. -

Economic Development Authority I June 11,2009
Page 5 of6

5
