<br />Mayor Ramsey stated that the community center would happen it would just be a matter of when. <br />He questioned the possibility of a lake with beach space in the town center. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that was the primary purpose for the north park but <br />explained that it would be expensive operationally. <br /> <br />Commissioner Barr questioned if beaches, such as Elm Creek, pay for themselves. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that he would look into that further. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey questioned if there were any concerns or questions with the decisions made by <br />the Council in regard to the Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thought that the communication was pretty open throughout the process. She <br />thought it would have been nice to be in the room while the discussions were taking place. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen thought that it had been an open meeting but recognized that invitations <br />could have been extended to Chairs. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen commented that a boat landing was desired in his ward. He explained <br />that there were two rivers without access. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock had received comments from a resident regarding the safety straps on the <br />handicap swings in the parks. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that there were restrictions in regard to that item and he <br />would further research the item. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone thought that there were enough parks within the City and though that <br />the focus should be on improving parks and creating additional trail connections between the <br />parks. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaMere, seconded by Commissioner Shryock, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/June 11, 2009 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />
