<br />CASE # ,\ <br /> <br />CONSIDER RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE RAMSEY LIONS FOR THEIR <br />SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RAMSEY COMMUNITY <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Deputy City Administrator/Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the request of Mayor Ramsey, staff has drafted a resolution for Council consideration <br />to recognize the Ramsey Lions Club for their significant contributions to our community <br />over the years. The attached resolution provides an example of some of the programs and <br />purchases the Lions Club has been involved with since its inception in 1972. <br /> <br />The Lions donated the funds to the City, which were used to build a park shelter in <br />Central Park. Mayor Ramsey has suggested a sign and/or monument be erected at and/or <br />on the shelter in recognition of the Lions' work in the community. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />The Lawful Gambling Fund could be considered for funding the sign and/or monument. <br /> <br />C(,)uncil Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #09-07- XXX recogmzmg the Ramsey Lions for their <br />significant contributions to the Ramsey Community. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />Deputy City Adminis <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />CC: 07/14/09 <br />
