<br />CONSENT # 8 <br /> <br />APPROVAL FOR EXEMPTION FOR A GAMBLING LICENSE FOR THE TWIN <br />CITIES NORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br />The attached application is from the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce for exemption <br />from a lawful gambling license to hold a raffle at The Links at Northfork on September 18.2009. <br />The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce meets all of the requirements which allow them <br />to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the commodities to be <br />raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />None Required <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for the Twin <br />Cities North Chamber of Commerce to hold a raffle at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for the <br />Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce hold a raffle at The Links at Northfork on September <br />18, 2009 and authorize staff to sub a letter to the Gambling Control Board stating approval. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />
