fl,} ,17 'Tn111t,iportacicm. /\, \1i1h:si~~
Pllbliu lvh:(:tiD2- (~o!t'!I1l~~nf,~ '
lh,ltED 11 IJf.1.2

Turn lane or bypass lane needed at McKinley Street, northbound traffic turning west
causes major traffle delays especially during evening rush hour. Very dangerous for cars
turning, risk being rear ended by trcifJic traveling north or hit by cars traveling south.
Many cars just pass on shoulder due to frustration oftrqffic being backed up. There is
not rally a safe area to go around a vehicle at that location. 1 believe there is a turn lane
for the street on the east side,. however. it is hard to determine if vehicles are turning
(they usually stop prior to completing the turn) or they are just trying to get by the
westbound turning vehicle that is blocking traffic. Either l1;ay it is a dangerous
intersection that may warrant a stoplight.

Need northbound lanes at railroad crossing at TH 47 to switch to left turn lane and right
lane for highway traffic.

Going northbound on TH 47 at the railroad tracks before Schwartzman '.'1, the two lanes
was a great road improvement last year (adding the bypass lane). The right lane is
currently the bypass lane, which should on(v be used in situations where roads are flat to
see cars stoppedfor turning left. The trqffic lane should be switched to a permanent left
turn lane only and the right lane isfor all traffic going north. There are many near miss
accidents because some drivers are not paying close attention in the left lane, get stopped
by sorneone entering Schwartzman's, and try to switch to the right bypass lane when
people behind them are already in the right lane bypassing them. With a permanent left
turn lane there would be less indecision and less accidents!

Left turn lane issues on the southern portion of TH 47.

Other Proiect Related
Level.of-Service at CSAH 5/Alpine Drive should be calculated.
Were turning movement counts taken while CR 56 and CSAH 116 were under
construction?

We are glad to see this addressed as TH 10 becomes a parking lot for travel, more and
more people look for alternatives. We want to be sure these alternatives are possible, yet
keep residents' opinions top of mind. DON'T make decisions without public input as has
happened SO MANY times in the past in the area.

Map east and west feeder to north and south main roads.

The plantings and median grass along TH47 between NowthenBoulevard and Sunwood
Drive --I understand that it is expensive to maintain, however,. if it can't be maintained
on a regular basis, fill it will concrete. Many of the shrubs planted have died and there
is no real thought or organization to the plants that remain. It 'sjust not pretty.

What about homes on St Francis Boulevard - eminent domain?

Plan frontage roads, not speed bumps.

City planning should be considering the impact on transportation needs for the present.
and future.

Other

F..: -/1 J 66(~,,(l,1'j\drn! tl'-.M\~<::i in~.;..\Puhk i\.1e:~!ijnl/,-n':>(\8 ,~..t\rOH1nkl\t), do~'

P35
