CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in the <br />Alexander Ramsey Room, Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey (via Skype) <br />Councilmember Matt Look (6:15 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeff Wise <br />Members Absent: Councilmember John Dehen <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />Dep. City Admin./Dir. of Community Development Heidi Nelson <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br />Tim Gladhill, Associate Planner <br />Jessica Hendricks, Management Intern <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the regular Council Work Session to order at 5:32 p.m. He <br />announced that the reason Councilmember Jeffrey is attending this meeting via Skype is <br />because of the H1N1 flu pandemic — Mr. Jeffrey's daughter may be infected. The Jeffrey <br />household has been quarantined, therefore, Councilmember Jeffrey may attend the <br />meeting in this manner according to State Law. <br />TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2) Review of Nuisance Abatement Services Proposals <br />Councilmember McGlone left the meeting for this discussion as he had submitted a <br />proposal for this contract. Police Chief Way stated that staff issued a request for <br />proposals for public nuisance abatement and received five proposals. He added that one <br />proposal was ftom Councilmember McGlone and that State Statutes does allow this. If it <br />ends up that Mr. McGlone's proposal is chosen, staff would work closely with the City <br />Attorney on the contract. Chief Way reviewed each proposal and tried to compare them <br />as closely to one another as possible.
