<br />5.o.7:o.5Y,.Law:EnfQrcement Officers. The terms of this Section' shall
<br />not prohibit the possession or discharge of firearms by duly authorized peace
<br />officers or military authorities. .; ......... ..' , ....
<br />5,o.7io.6 '.' Firing Ranges. The terms of this Section shC\1I not: prohibit
<br />the possession or'discharge offirearms upon a firing range, either indoor or
<br />9utdoor, provided said range is properly equipped and sUpervisl!d to insure
<br />reasonable safety as determined by the certificate of the Chief of Police of the
<br />City or pursuant to licensing ordinances hereinafterenactedfor such ra,ryges.
<br />, . 5.0.7.0.7 . Protection of Home and Familyi Nothing in this Section
<br />shall prevent the possession,storage or use of a firearm within the home when
<br />done in the lawful defense of person, family,or property.
<br />5.0.7.0.8 Discharge of Firearms.
<br />. a. " The owner or tenant or persons having written authorization of
<br />such owner or tenant may; upon the land of the owner or the owner's tenant,
<br />discharge firearms in hunting wild game in accordance with the laws of the
<br />Stateof.ivIinnesotaandthis section. ..
<br />b. Discharge of firearms shall NOT be permitted within 1,50.0. feet
<br />of any residential dwelling or other structure; park orplayground without a
<br />City penmit that specifically grants permission. '. . .
<br />c.The,use.of a lead shot or a lead round of any kind may only be
<br />used by penmit only> '.
<br />5.0.7;0.9 . . Permit to Hunt or Discharge. A permit to hunt or dis-
<br />charge a firearm within the City is required and shall be issued. by the Police
<br />Chief.
<br />5.0.7.10. Target Shooting. A permit to "target shoot" is required for
<br />either firearm or bow..and arrow, and may be issued by the Police Chief. The
<br />Police Chief or his designee must inspect the location priorto a permit being
<br />issued.
<br />5.0.7.11 Use of BowsandArroWs.
<br />a. . The use ofabow and arrow for hunting . or target shooting pur-
<br />poses shall be permitted in the City in accordance with the laws of the State of
<br />Minrwsot'! andthissection~. ...... ....... .

<br />:5.07.1Z ..... Permits forBow and Arrow Hunting. A penmit for bow and
<br />arrow hunting ,shall be required prior to such hunting in the City, Applicants
<br />for a bow and arrow hunting permit shall apply ~I) the Police Chief or his/her

<br />5.0.7.13 .' Restrictions; . Bow andarro\y hunting shall not be within
<br />50.0. feet of any residential structure, commercial structure, Pilrk or play-
<br />ground, or any trunkhigliwaywithout a City permit that specifically grants

<br />''5:0.7.14': . . .. Authority' The Police chief shall be granted the authority to
<br />adminiSter the permit process and issue permits under this section.
<br />5.0.7.15.. Pe~niiWenials. Any party that has a permit requestdenied
<br />undenhissedionmayappeal to the Board ofAdministrC\tive Hearings. The
<br />request for a hearing must be in writing, detailing the reason for the appeal,
<br />a.riet shall include the filing fee asset in the Ramsey Rates and Fees schedule.
<br />The fillngtee wOlJldbe refunded if the Hearing Board reverses the denial and
<br />issues a permit. '
<br />SECTION 3, EFFECTIVE DATE
<br />The effective date of this Ordinance is.thirty. (30.) days after its passage and
